IGUANA Distribution : central, south America and Mexico. Size : Males can reach 6' ,normal size is 4-5' . Temperament usually iguanas are naturally tame but breeding adults can be aggressive. Hardiness: Very hardy, long lived, must have calcium input when young. Sexing: males have longer heads, enlarged femoral pores, large dorsal spines. Food: Vegetables and fruits such as romaine lattice, sweet potatoes, green beans, tomato melons, apples, bananas, Young iguanas require vitamin and mineral supplements especially calcium. Housing A 20 gal terrarium can house babies. Adults need a least a 40 gal setup. Landscape and create shelters and use plants. Water: A large shallow dish of fresh water to drink and bath in. Temperature: day 88f ,night 65f daily misting is important. Lighting: full spectrum lamps are a must. Heating: Heat emitters or basking light to keep temperature high.
