Calcium supplement recommended.Housing : A 10 gallon tank for juveniles ,29 -55 gal for adults. Higher is better than length. Live plants and a easy to clean substrate. A full screen top semi- covered to help maintain humidity at 50 to 75 percent. Water: Provide a small shallow dish -but most water intake is from drinking off leaves , a heavy misting every day is a must for young Chameleons. A drip system is okay for adults. Suggest using a small air stone in the bowl to help humidity .Temperature: Day -77f night 62f. A basking light to raise area temperature to 85f .Lighting:A full spectrum UVA and UVB lighting is recommended. Heat lamps also to bring heat up., should be on 12-14 hours a day -Lights off at nightHeating: Heat lamp.
Breeding:Females
can be receptive to males from 6 to 10 months old .Gestation period is
5 to 10 months, depending on temperature. Clutch size from 5 to 50 young
depending on size and age. As the Female crawls along the branches, each
neonate drops to the ground below. This process appears to stimulate the
young to emerge. If nothing happens re dropping the neonate can help. Separate
the female from the young as she may eat them.
