Horse Boarding

Thoughtful care for your horse at a family owned and operated facility

Our Philosophy of Care

What distinguishes the Four Winds from other barns? We’re committed to giving your horse the best care possible. Maybe you hear that a lot, but here’s what that means for us:

  • seeking improvement and further education for ourselves and others

  • consistency and stability to earn trust that we’ll follow through

  • flexibility and willingness to change if something isn’t working for your horse

  • honesty and transparency with our 50+ years of knowledge and experience

  • respect for your knowledge and experience with your horse as well

Arenas

Boarders have their choice to ride in any of our four arenas: 60’x160’ indoor arena, 200’x275’ “hunter” arena, 130’x240’ “jumper” arena with built in bank, or the 70’x160’ “schooling” arena.

We use ArenaKleen, an organic dust suppressant on the sand in our indoor for consistent, dust-free footing year round.

Between all our riding spaces, there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their horse in whichever space bests suits them, no matter the time of year.

Turnout Time

We have 5 dedicated turnout areas throughout the property for boarder access. These spaces are separate from the riding arenas for use in 2-hour increments at any time of day. Turnout services are available for an additional charge.

Stabling Choices

We believe every horse deserves individualized care and offer a variety of stabling to accommodate your horse’s unique needs. You can choose between stalls, private paddocks, or group pasture. All boarding includes feeding 3x daily, automatic, heated waterers, tack storage space, and the support of our on-site barn manager. Please read more about each option below.

Inclusions and Options

  • Let us take care of the essentials, so you can focus on your equine partnership.

We contract our hay from local farmers to ensure horses are being fed consistent, quality hay throughout the year. Both grass and alfalfa are available, and we help personalize a feeding plan to best suit each individual horse’s needs. Hay is fed 3x daily to decrease boredom and promote gastrointestinal health. We’ll feed owner-provided grain, supplements, and medication at no additional charge, or BlueBonnet Omega Intensify feed can be included with your horse’s diet for an additional cost.

Heated automatic waterers ensure your horse has free access to fresh water at all times.

  • Our barn manager, Jasmine Throckmorton, lives on-site at the Four Winds. She is dedicated to ensuring your horse receives consistent, high-quality care and to supporting you in horse ownership!

While boarders can use professionals of their choice, we happily provide recommendations for superb farriers, dentists, chiropractors, nutritionists, sports medicine and lameness vets, and more. Our team of specialists offer top notch holistic care to support our equine partners.
