Riding Lesson Prices

Our program is structured to encourage consistency, so we offer a lesson membership. Becoming a member of the Four Winds means you can schedule lessons at an incredible discounted rate, while still allowing us to care for our horses reliably. Memberships are $250, and boarders, lessees receive this free. Haul-in lessons get a discounted membership at $80. Lessons may be booked outside of the membership, with a school horse rate built into the cost.

Private Lesson
1 rider

$80 member rate
$125 individual rate

This detail oriented 1:1 instruction promotes rapid progress and a close working relationship between riders and trainers to further develop finesse and understanding of fundamentals in both flatwork and over fences exercises.

Semi-Private Lesson
2 riders

$60 members only

This variation of our one hour private lesson allows you to share time with a partner of similar level of experience. Semi-private lessons offer plenty of 1:1 instruction, while building in time to reflect and observe within your lesson.

Group Lesson
3-4 riders

$40 member rate
$100 individual rate

Group lessons are a great way to connect socially with other equestrians and to learn from observing in addition to receiving individual feedback to reinforce techniques learned in private or semi-private lessons.

Little’s Lesson on Four Winds Horse
30 minute lesson, children age 3-7
$55

These abbreviated lessons are designed to be the first experience for young kids with an interest in horses. During this lesson, little’s will split time between riding (with a handler in the beginning) and learning to handle horses on the ground. This early exposure opportunity is a great option prior to starting in our English riding lessons.

Training Pricing
$60

Training can be booked online, at your convenience and package discounts are available. We believe in the ability for you to tailor the program to exactly your needs and are here to support you however that is needed.

For new partnerships and performance horses, we recommended 2 training contacts throughout each week to ensure your horse stays tuned up as you learn, while still enjoying lots of time in the saddle. For young horses or horses working through training problems, 4 training contacts per week is recommended. We encourage owner involvement, so often encourage incorporating lessons into your training program.

Competition Coaching
$100 day rate

Our standard day rate is $100/day, to be billed per horse in attendance at the show. This day rate includes all coaching/riding/training performed by the trainer, regardless of number of hours spent. Schooling and setup day incurs a day rate, then it will be billed throughout the remainder of the show whether lessening or competing for each day remaining that we are in attendance. For show we travel to, this day rate does include usage of what stabling supplies we bring. Please remember that facility costs (staffing for shows, prizes, etc) incur a separate fee from coaching!

Additional Horse Show Fees

  • $60/day lease fee for the use of a stable-owned horse.

  • $1.00/mile trailering fee. Mileage is calculated for round trip travel. Minimum $100 for hauling.

  • Stall reservations must be made for off-site horse shows. Costs vary, please check the horse show prize list for stall rates. For every 5 horses in attendance one additional tack storage stall will be reserved by the trainer. The total cost of tack stalls will be split equally among all horses in attendance. If you have multiple horses at the show you will be responsible for multiple shares of the tack stalls.

  • Clients are responsible for paying for braiding when necessary, shavings and all show fees for their horse in addition to coaching.

  • Trainer and Groom Hotel Split: this fee is only applicable for shows that require an overnight stay for the horses. In this case, a nearby hotel room will be booked for the trainer, and the cost will be split equally among all horses in attendance. If you have multiple horses at the show you will be responsible for multiple shares of the trainer hotel.

  • Additional optional services to care for your horse while showing off-site are available. Let us know in advance if you need help caring for your horse and we can create a custom quote.
